Friends Consult Ltd (FCL) completed the first module of a highly interactive 3-day training for young graduates under the Work Readiness Program, to impart crucial soft skills relevant for today’s job market. The first module, covering creativity and innovation, critical and big picture thinking, solving workplace problems, initiative and self-direction, aligning with organizational codes of conduct, as well as integrity and ethics at the workplace, was delivered to a group of 52 graduates at the Gospel Assembly Church, Kampala.
The Work Readiness Program (WRP) is implemented by Enabel and the Private Sector Foundation of Uganda (PSFU) to enhance employability and productivity of young graduates from universities and other tertiary institutions. The WRP supports recent university graduates to acquire practical work experience and boost soft skills through attachments to jobs in the sectors of manufacturing including Agro-processing, Construction, Tourism and ICT. The program will help the graduates apply knowledge acquired in their course of study, while acquiring practical skills and competences required by employers, for increased employability.
