Andrew Obara is the Managing Director and the brain behind the creation of FRIENDS Consult Ltd, who has seen the company and has seen it attain recognition among the “top 100 mid-sized SMEs in Uganda for four consecutive years (2013/14/15/16). He is a highly experienced all round, seasoned consultant with over 25 years practical and senior level experience in the areas of banking/finance, microfinance capacity building, project/fund design and management, macroeconomic studies, feasibility studies, product development, market surveys, institutional assessment/diagnostic reviews, executive course development and training and strategy development,/ strategic planning, banking, loan investments, venture capital, other corporate business development services, SMME technical assistance. Andrew has led a number of diverse teams that have executed assignments in the recent past, that have all been rated excellent by the clients. He also has deep knowledge of and wide experience in the Ugandan Finance, Microfinance, Economic, Agriculture, Banking and Macroeconomic sectors having worked in these sectors for over 25 years. During his working time, Andrew has accomplished both national and international assignments for Governments, NGOs, bilateral and multilateral development partners and Private firms among others. Some of his working assignments have been in countries including Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, Rwanda, Netherlands, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, Namibia and Gambia among others.
